Replying to LO8050 --

I am on this list for about a year and in the beginning I have made some
replies on some topics. Then I stopped replying because there was too much
to reply on and too little time to reply......

I am probably the "take your time between stimulus and response" lurker.
Being a Dutch native speaker , I am often overwhelmed by the top-academic
and extremly excellent way of using the english language by most of you. I
am also often very touched by the honesty and directness of many replies.
I have learned so much about Learning Organisation Concepts and about you
Americans since I am on this list! I sure don't want to miss it anymore.

Some day's have gone by, by the time _I_ manage to formulate an english
written reply to one or another topic . It has happened a couple of times
that I did not want to post my replies anymore because I felt it was too
late and the thread had gone unexpected directions which didn't feel
related anymore to my reply.

It actually takes me quite a bit of time to translate my experiences,
insights and questions, you know. And than there's this "driver" in me
that says: "Let others say the thinks you want to say, they do it a lot
better.......". (I know it's not correct to think in this way, but never
the less...) And indeed, often there are others who come up with the same
idea's, answers and questions. So than there's no need for me anymore to
take action.

How about slowing down a bit?

Or how about making a kind of Sub-list where snails like me are able to
join-in-action. The quick guy's and girls can than lurk on this
"Snaillist" or slow down and join. And snails like me can continue to lurk
on the Turbolist and learn and learn and learn. Maybe some day they become
a Turbo as well? Or maybe some Turbo finds out that it feels good to take
some more time between stimulus and response and joins the Snaillist. The
Turbolist can do its daily deliveries , while the Snaillist is distributed
f.e. once a week, so everybody has the same opprtunity and time to reply.
The Turbolist can contain short to-the-point replies while the Snaillist
can contain longer replies.

Honestly spoken I am a bit afraid that (in a while) Non english native
speakers are not welcome anymore on this list. I hope I am wrong!

I have recently had this experience on another international english
spoken mailinglist where this has happened and it really shocked me. The
list had over 600 subscribers and some american subscribers introduced
this solution. The reason they came up with was that it was THEIR
list..........! Now that list has gone down to about 400 subscribers.

greetings from the lowlands of Holland.
