Thanks for your questioning post. I suspect that it might evoke some
responses, because this very theme was the center of a large interchange
some months ago on this list. There was no particular set of principles,
or resolution to the discussion, but the messages were thought-provoking.

However, your words about "tension [which] comes from responding to these
questions" is an apt summation of the exchanges on this issue of who or
what from the business side of the analogy equates with whom or what
within the education model.

Maybe in five years or less we'll be able to have an on "on-line", living
affinity diagram from around the world onto which all of us correspondents
place our suggestions for the two sides of this analog e.g. if a business
has a product, then in education the business is.... and the product
is.... . etc. Imagine the breadth of possibilities and the power of
connections to synthesize new approaches!
