I think a lot: sometimes about corporations and corporate culture, more
often about music or (my profession) software architecture and
construction. Every once in a while I encounter a really exciting book.
Senge's is one such.

I've spent a lot of time in startups, less in large organizations of the
sort that Senge writes about. It's interesting that even in small
startups there can be differences - radical ones - in fundamental
perspectives on learning. I'm fascinated trying to understand (i.e.
build some kind of comprehensive picture or model of) the
_anthropological_ aspects of business conduct and growth. The kinds of
questions I ask? Um... Why do most organizations act as if learning
presupposes teaching? What happens to the beer game if all communication
among the participants is instantaneous? Do increasing communication
speeds have some _necessary_ effect on the periodicity of business cycles?
