Today's Reading
Mount Hope : A New England Chronicle by George Howe

This Year's Reading
2002 Book List

Brightly colored food. Left wing politics. Poofy slippers. Crocuses and daffodils in bloom. And those blue flowers I can never remember the name of too. Forsythia almost. Kids able to contribute substantively to discussion of how $$million+ housing developments contribute to decline of farming and decline of bucolic country views the $$$$ house owners moved there for. Self unable to convince family I have become a right wing Republican. Must learn how to argue politics better. Children able to contribute substantively to discussion of decline of Acting Governor Jane Swift and rise of $$$$ Mitt Romney $$$$. Children unexpectedly perceptive about how it's really the Lieutenant Governor who matters because Massachusetts has itching powder on the governor's chair. The real question may be "Does Massachusetts really matter?" Will the Big Dig be finished in my lifetime? How many innings will Pedro Martinez pitch tomorrow? Am I taller than Robert Reich? What is the gross national product of Bosnia? Why is there an expiration date on Twinkies? What exactly is the point of the two-man luge? Maybe I could ask $$$$ Mitt Romney $$$$ that one. After all he single handedly ran the Olympics. We grow too soon old and too late smart. But we learn irony right on time.
