two short-eared owls

Some days the universe just delivers big time. Found two short-eared owls at Plum Island this afternoon at the height of the snow without hardly trying. One even posed picturesquely on a small pine tree amidst the snowcovered brush. Words are not enough for the magic of short-eared owls with their "bounding, moth-like flight". They rock. What can I say?
