Location and Overview

Corflu 18 will be held at the MidTown Hotel, which is near the intersection of Massachusetts and Huntington Avenues. The hotel is close to the T (Green Line E) and to the MBTA #1 bus down Massachusetts Avenue. The MidTown is also easily reached from other Green Line branches, the Orange Line T, and Back Bay station on AMTRAK and MBTA Commuter Rail. Directions for reaching the hotel by car are included.

The hotel has free parking for guests, but con members not familiar with driving and navigating in downtown Boston will probably find the experience challenging. Local convention members might be able to buddy up with out of towners not travelling by car to take advantage of the parking that comes with their rooms. Some metered parking spaces are available on side streets, and the parking garage under the Prudential Center is a short walk from the MidTown Hotel.

The nearest public transit (T) stop is Symphony, on the Green Line E (Arborway) train route. Hynes Convention Center/ICA (Green Line B, C, and D) and Massachusetts Avenue (Orange Line) stations are within walking distance for people who enjoy walking, or a short cab ride for people who might want to take a taxi. The Route 1 (Massachusetts Avenue) MBTA bus line stops at Huntington Avenue near the hotel.

Back Bay station, on the Orange Line, MBTA Commuter Rail Attleboro/Providence line, and AMTRAK, is somewhat further from the hotel than the Massachusetts Avenue Orange Line station. Some MBTA Commuter Rail routes stop at North Station, which is also a stop on the Green Line. Other Commuter Rail routes stop at South Station: take the Red Line train Inbound and change to the Green Line at Park Street. As noted above, the Symphony stop on the E line is the Green Line stop closest to the Corflu hotel.

The Boston intercity bus line terminal is adjacent to South Station; as with Commuter Rail, take the Red Line Inbound to Park Street and change for the Green Line E (Arborway) car to Symphony. Arriving by Air (Boston)

Boston Logan Airport

Members arriving by air at Boston's Logan Airport can get to the hotel by taxi, airport shuttle, limousine service, or by public transit. For airport information see www.massport.com or call 1-800-23-LOGAN. (The Massport web page specifically addresses ground transportation options.)

Arrivals at Logan Airport discharge passengers at five terminals, A through E. Taxis are available outside each terminal. Shuttle buses to the T (subway), ferry service to downtown, and to hotels stop outside each terminal, and limousines can be reserved in advance for pick-up at each terminal. Shared van shuttle service is provided by U.S. Shuttle, see www.us-shuttle.com or call 1-877-SHUTTLE or +1 617-889-3366.

To use the T, take the subway shuttle bus outside the terminal to the Airport stop on the Blue Line. Take the Blue Line train inbound to Government Center and change to the Green Line E car Inbound to Symphony.

Traveling via Rhode Island

SouthWest Airline's use of Rhode Island's T.F. Green Airport has created a lot of competition, and fares into T.F. Green may be lower than fares into Boston's Logan Airpor, even on airlines other than Southwest.

The main shuttle bus (Bonanza Lines) from T.F. Green Airport has a posted schedule on the Bonanza Bus web site. Departures from the airport for Boston are more or less hourly on the hour. Fare is $17 one-way. Trip time is listed as 85 minutes. The Boston end of the bus route is the terminal adjacent to South Station, where travellers can board the Red Line T (subway) for Park Street change at Park Street for the Green Line E train to Symphony station. Bonanza's phone numbers are 1-888-751-8800 and +1 401 -751-8800.

T.F. Green Airport information is available on-line. It's possible to get from T.F. Green (the airport near Providence R.I.) to Providence Station on RIPTA, the local public transit authority (ripta.com). It appears that the station has both Amtrak and Mass. Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA, www.mbta.com) train connections. U.S. Shuttle (see under "Arriving by Air (Boston)" also operates out of T.F. Green airport in Providence.

The train routes from Providence to Boston stop at Back Bay Station and South Station. Back Bay Station is a long walk or a short taxi ride from the Corflu 18 hotel.

Fitting You to the T

http://www.mbta.com/text-only/schedmaps/comm/textattleboro.cfm has the information for the Attleboro/Providence line. http://www.mbta.com/text-only/schedmaps/comm/attlestsu.cfm has the information for the Saturday schedule for same. Looks like you take the 12 Line from the airport and ride in to Kennedy Plaza (end of the line) for the Amtrak (and MBTA?) station. The rail station in Providence is at 100 Gaspee Street (Amtrak Station). One way fare into Boston is $5.75. T fare is $1.

Please confirm all other fares and schedules with the bus or train operating agency before beginning your journey. The main T page is www.mbta.com.
