Travels in the Great Southwest

Sooner or later, everyone who works for Raytheon is dispatched to White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico, whether it be for a couple of days, a week, a month, or forever. It's a rite of passage. Furthermore, it's not unusual for the visit to be... extended beyond the original planned return date, sometimes WAY beyond. The extra time affords more opportunities to gorge on Mexican food — and, of course, to go dashing off on lots of side trips.

Photography is prohibited on the base, so all the pictures here are of other places. Besides, the desert inside the base looks strikingly similar to the desert outside.
