My mother, Pearl Paul Hilcoff, sits on the front stoop of Grandma and Grandpa Hilcoff's house on Arlington St in the Prospect Beach area of West Haven CT in 1944 or '45. This was my home until I was 10 months old, when my parents bought their first house.
My mom was born in Pike Road NC in 1919, and died of a ruptured aortic aneurysm a few days before Christmas, 1996. My brother, sister and I were at her bedside.
