Monday was an off-day, allowing us to meander at a leisurely clip down blue highways as we headed south and west toward Charlottesville VA. In the aftermath of an apocalyptic thunderstorm, no less terrifying for being common in that part of the country in June, Malcolm (who by now had decided to take out adoption papers on the van) here singlehandedly guides our relieved and happy crew (sans Bob, of course) through the Shenandoah Valley.
