This is Laura Croft.
Laura is a Tomb Raider.
Laura has lots of money.
This is Laura's house
This is Laura's laboratory
These are Laura's cars
This is Laura's gadgeteer
He lives in a trailer outside Laura's mansion
He builds toys for Laura.
Little toys and big toys
Laura has friends.
Laura's friends have lots of money, too.
At least, they have an airplane.
Laura's friends can airlift Laura and her jeep from the U.K. to
Southeast Asia on 12 hours notice. As a favor.
These are Laura's enemies.
Laura's enemies have lots of money.
This is where they plot against Laura.
This is where one of their flunkies conducts business.
This a work crew that they hired for a local job.
This is their amphibious personnel carrier.
So where is the real wealth in all this?
Is it the house? the cars? the aircraft? the worldwide operations?
the military equipment?
No. It's here. Here. It's the big robot that Laura uses as a sparring
partner. What's so special about this robot? Let's take a look
Size
It's big. Bigger than Laura.
Speed
Strength
Granite has a density of about 2.5
Autonomous
No power cord, no umbilical cord, no R/C link. It is fully
self-contained and autonomous.
Intelligence
It's smarter than a cat, but not as smart as a human. I'd put it on par
with a dog.
The technolgy to build a robot with these performance characteristics
would be worth more than everything else shown in this movie
put together.
If Laura's gadgeteer could really build a robot like this, he wouldn't
be living in a trailer outside Laura's mansion. He'd be living in a
trailer outside his own mansion, and he'd have more money than Bill
Gates.
