Janet L. McDougall

Age 80, died peacefully at home of leukemia on April 4, 2021.

Janet was born in Newark, NJ to Archie and Margaret Wright McDougall. She attended Kearny High School, Kearny, NJ and Bernards High School, Bernardsville, NJ. She graduated from Hood College in 1962 with a degree in Political Science. Janet embarked on a career in publishing at Time Inc., retiring after 43 years as Staff Operations Manager for Sports Illustrated Magazine.

Janet's family and many good friends found her generous, caring, loyal and committed to doing things right. She loved music, singing in school and church choirs, with the Village Light Opera Group and with the Canterbury Choral Society. She enjoyed travel and the cultural and educational opportunities offered by New York City.

Janet is survived by her brother Alan (Joan); niece Anne Burgess; nephews Steven (Wendy), John (Andrea), Scott (Jennifer), and Gregory (Khrystyna); grand-nieces Elizabeth, Sadie, and Laura; and grand-nephews Tyler, Ian, David, Jacob and Christopher. She was pre-deceased by her brother Peter.

Donations in remembrance of Janet may be made to the Canterbury Choral Society or to Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church. She will be missed.
