Nineteenth Century Stars (SABR, 1989) and Baseball's First Stars (SABR, 1996) include 289 biographies of 19th century base ballists. The original editors, John Thorn and Mark Rucker in 1984 and Frederick Ivor-Campbell in 1990, recommended more than 300 subjects. Here are the 44 recommended subjects who are not featured in either volume.
