19th Century and Deadball Era

The Deadball Era Committee completed its first project in 2003. Deadball Stars of the National League (SABR, 2003) includes biographies of 136 National League subjects. 139 more have already been selected for the companion volume, Deadball Stars of the American League, expected 2006.

Several of the Deadball Era subjects were also featured in the 19th Century volumes, Nineteenth Century Stars (SABR, 1989) and Baseball's First Stars (SABR, 1996), which consist of 289 biographies.
