More on Merle  Merle Malkoff Bombardieri is a national expert in women's health issues. She has dedicated her professional and creative energies to women's well-being for over 30 years as a counselor, professional speaker and author. Merle has been in private practice for 17 years. As the former Clinical Director of RESOLVE (the national infertility organization), she pioneered decision-making and stress management techniques for women and couples coping with infertility, pregnancy loss, adoption, high-tech conceptions and childfree living. Her book, The Baby Decision, was described as "intelligent and insightful" by the Los Angeles Times.

Merle is quoted on health issues in Time, Newsweek, the New York Times, and the Boston Globe. Her articles have appeared in the Boston Globe Magazine, Glamour, Self, Bride's, medical journals and a medical textbook. She has appeared on national network radio and television programs such as The Leeza Show, and CBS and ABC News and the documentary, "The Babymakers," She is listed in Who's Who of American Women and Who's Who in America .

In addition to her BA in psychology from Michigan State University and a Master of Social Work from California State University, San Diego, Merle received three years of training in hypnotherapy and behavioral medicine from Dan Brown, Ph.D., professor at Harvard Medical School. She also holds a certification from the American Society for Clinical Hypnosis. She is licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (LICSW) and holds three national certifications in social work: BCD, ACSW, and the NASW Diplomate.

Merle is married and the mother of two grown daughters. She enjoys yoga, hiking, movies and writing poetry and fiction.
