A hypertext system based on Peter Brown's research at the University of Kent in England (1982) where he still works on a UNIX version of Guide.

Apple program based on an earlier UNIX version developed in England. Guide uses three kinds of links: replacement links, which cause the text in the current window to be completely replaced by the text pointed to by the link; note links, which display the destination text in a pop-up window; and reference links, which bring up a new window with the destination text. (Conklin, 1987)
Guide was released in 1986 as the first hypertext system for microcomputers.
It is now a commercial product on the PC, marketed by InfoAccess of Bellvue, Washington, USA.
