The 2004-2005 Center for Academic Technology Faculty Fellowship is dedicated to documenting the range of course mentoring needs across Lesley University and the analysis of how myLesley can be used to meet those diverse needs for collaboration, communication, teamwork and support in both technology and pedagogy. At this point in the fellowship, Dr. Mary Hopper will provide an overview of her project, share a growing body of resources on mentoring and then describe some preliminary results of the study. She will then briefly review some examples of best practices and recommended models for using an electronic community for course mentoring. Finally, a critical aspect of this project is taking into consideration the experience, perceptions and preferences of campus faculty who are involved with various models for faculty mentoring. Therefore, she will conclude the session by inviting the audience to participate in an exercise to reflect upon their own needs and plans for designing communities to support course mentoring in myLesley.
