A belated reply to understanding the differences/similarities between the
work of Senge and Garvin:
Senge and Garvin disagree about what conditions promote the creation of
learning organizations. Each list different factors that represent or
promote learning. However, they both approach the LO with a normative or
prescriptive orientation. Unless the right conditions are put into place
or the right set of behavioral traits are practiced, then learning will
not occur.
