Ragnar's comments got me thinking...
In this list we often tell stories of myopic individuals who cannot see
the larger implications of their actions. But what about the person who
waits to act until all connections are made clear? What of the
academician who can't publish a thought until it is completely supported?
What about the decision maker paralyzed by the implications of a decision?
That price do we pay for attempting to find universal principles and
truths. If the trouble with non-system thinking is that we do not pay
attention to related and interdependent issues, the trouble with system
thinking is that we pay too much attention to them. Is there a balancing
point between personal perspective and understanding a universe of
connectedness?
