I got a mailer on this, and even bought it ($100) to pass around to some
folks. But I did find it rather disappointing for the price (e.g., the
content is the same simple examples that HPS has been using for a decade,
and the [multimedia/pedagogic] production qualities are slim). It's
definitely the kind of thing that other companies give a way as
promotions.
What I *would* be very interested in is the modeling that HPS did in
deciding to charge so much rather than making it a free (or low cost)
promo. I've been playing with Ithink for a long time, and as a sidelight
I've been fascinated by HPS's policies (e.g., high product prices, long
time to bring out a PC version, competitor suits, charging for promos);
it's almost as if they've been fighting to keep their market growth rate
down!
