I think the word "tolerance" has a sour ring to it. It seems to
say that those others are obviously doing something wrong but I am going
to overlook it in the name of peace. Shouldn't we rather acknowledge that
there are people who have very different ways of living and doing from our
own and that makes life so much more interesting. Can we welcome and
embrace our diversity?
Most of the antagonisms between people arise from one group or
person sensing that they are considered inferior in some way and standing
up to defend themselves. The challenge for our time, and it is a major
revolutionary challenge, is to recognise our essential oneness. We are all
spiritual beings struggling to overcome the tests and difficulties of the
society into which we were born.
Now is the time to use all the techniques and learning we can
muster to help one another along the way.
With loving appreciation to all meg
