I agree with the comments of Scott, Hal, and MNR AM De Lange On this
question of creating safe learning environments. The question of safety
is critical for anyone who wants to create a learning environment.
I think there must be a subsequent step, though, for creating an
empowered, learning individual, and that is to provide them the tools so
they can provide their own safe learning environment.
This may be what empowerment is about -- the ability to create one's own
'safe learning environment.'
