good memories for me - will have to go back to some of that reading.

On a related aspect to technology and values, there is a recent article in
Science magazine "Could the Internet Balkanize Science" about whether the
explosion of available info will crowd out other past scientific community
values relating to student contact and faculty interactions. It raise more
issues than it addresses but is interesting - it is available for free to
non-subscribers until Jan 6, 1997 on
