Replying to LO11327 --

Yes, in our institution, we have seen collaborative efforts on the part of
the faculty union and the administration that are targeted toward
achieving the interests of both sides. The efforts have been a
synergistic approach to addressing the concerns that have arisen out of
the Wisconsin legislation on welfare reform (W2). The W2 legislation
currently has minimal time provisions for training for current and future
welfare recipients before they must obtain employment. The union and the
administration have developed a high level of alignment in how to deal
with this legislation, as well as how to change it to more effectively
meet the needs of both the state and the welfare recipients.
