Replying to LO11170 --

Bob asks about German unions and LO. Germany is a great place to talk
about learning and with unions. It is a culture that has a solid
tradition of apprenticeship. This tradition is not not just a way of
(slowly) getting into work. It is a serious education process.

The question regarding this issue will likely be, "What's different about
this?" than questions of "Is this of value?"

The value of life-long education and development might be less clear to
them. The nature of "organisational learning" will certainly not be clear
to them. But then it isn't very clear to most LO practitioners either.

Good luck,
