Rol,

One solution worthy of investigation is presented by Steve Haeckel of IBM.
In an article entitled "Adaptive Enterprise Design" , Planning Review,
May/June 1995 Vol 23,no 3 Steve presents his thesis that we have gone from
a COMMAND AND CONTROL to a COMMUNICATE AND HOPE management strategy. He
proposes a CONTEXT AND COORDINATION strategy that encorporates a model of
negotiated agreements and accountabilities that enables the creation of a
modular organization designed to respond to change.
