In message LO11054 Ben Compton writes,

>In my world, continuous improvement is really more about learning than it
>is about procedures, processes, and measurement systems.

It is wonderful to hear this approach to organisation improvement. I have
spent far to long hearing stories about doing BS5750, ISO 9000 etc and -
seen rows and rows of procedure manuals etc unused on peoples shelves
where they measured the activity they put into producing them and
measuring how well they used them rather than the positive difference they
made.

I would love to hear from Ben about the problems, delights, bewilderment,
resistance he met or might have met in trying to get his organisation and
his -

team to get 'more appropriately' into learning and continuous improvement
so that they benefited the customer and themselves rather than met some
external -

standard.
