Replying to LO11056 --

I have been away for several days training and have not been able to
respond -- I have not been avoiding!

I have responded to Robert and what is interesting is that what we have in
this interchange is a very typical communication scenario. The sender
feels strongly his message conveyed one meaning -- the receiver
interpreted the message differently. I cannot help that the impact on me
of their messages was an attempt to end the conversation. It still has
that impact.

I honestly stated my mental model about men. That was a risk on my part
and could cause a reaction. There is plenty of research which supports
this model too and I did not state it in a absolute way. I said men have
difficulty discussing -- I did not say men don't or can't. There is a big
difference and I want to make sure that difference is seen. I definately
opened myself for attack on that one but I felt it was important to state
my mental process as I have been accused of having some sort of personal
agenda. I have none other than what has been openly stated.
