In our research, we found that 'confidence' was a key factor that promoted
learning. Teams and organizations that are not confident in their
abilities to learn (from successes, failures, or anything in between) are
less apt to take risks or try out something new.
'Depression' is not exactly the opposite of confidence but I doubt that a
depressed individual or team will have very much confidence. Hence: high
depression, low confidence, little learning.
