This subject of metaphors as change agents is fascinating. The hero's mith
is both a metaphor of change and a change inducer! Plato's cave mith is
both a metaphor of the human condition and an instrument of change.

There is a very beautiful film on metaphors, The Postman, which treats
this element of change in a very dramatic and touching way.
