I cannot remember the exact model. But my friend Ken Junkins years ago
reframed it into a business-related model he called: Disconfirming
Information, How we treat information that differs from what we want:
Stage - Reaction -------- ------------ Disbelief - Can't be true. Can't have occurred. You're wrong Anger - How could they do this to me. Reaction - Okay. Then I'll just do this (stupid response) ... which is NOT an appropriate reaction Depression - Oh shit. (negative feelings) Resolution - Guess we'll have to work through this.
Her model is very much similar, probably many of the same terms, but we were
applying it to change-related or "coaching / confrontational" situation
training. Been too many years, but hope this helps
