Here is an interesting (and very deep) comment regarding chicken and egg
situations - a phrase which we tend to use very often to describe cyclical
processes.

When Carl Popper was asked by someone (quite seriously I think) "which
came first, the chicken or the egg?" he replied without hesitation:
"Another kind of egg."
