Replying to LO10691 --

I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to practice dialogue in this medium.
What a challenge to "speak to the center rather than any one person."
Maybe because the messages looked like normal list messages, some people
didn't realize they were in a different place.

In response to Sherri's questions...

What we did well was to try. We didn't do so well at speaking from the
heart. There seemed to be a significant number of heady "percussion"
inputs. Also, the several spellings of "Wheatley" and "dialogue" meant my
sorting was off so I had to use the LO numbers to review inputs in the
order they were contributed. The guidelines are excellent. I printed a
copy and they hang at eye level on my desk for use in all my business
conversations. I was inspired to participate when the synthesis of the
thoughts shared needed to be painted for everyone. I would love to try
again. Would it be possible to have the guidelines as a standard header
for each message? I would be delighted by a dialogue that strengthened
our sense of community by exploring what we hold as common understandings
as well as what we value as our differences.

Thank you, Sherri, for your gift of time to moderate the conversation--and
always, thank you Rick for providing the environment for this experiment
in relationship building.
