Replying to LO10697 --

My view of "when and why and how people change" is that it is very
seldom a personal thing. Many may make the decision to do it
personally. A few will actually accomplish something significant
this way. (A very few in my observation.) A few will change not our
of intention but out of circumstances - mostly those of the kind we
hope to avoid.

Most change, however, will occur within a community of some kind
which is organised around a different way of living, thinking and
being. These will provide the experiences, the interpretation
structures and the social support for change to occur.

To recall the original topic of "insecurity => creativity" such
communities of change provide the opposite. A church, an ashram, a
retreat, etc are generally places of support and caring and security.
