Fact is, Ben, that by the time they are "aware" they want to change, they
have already moved into a new realm; thus, they have already changed.
That's the joy of being on the train, by the time you know you're
arriving, you've arrived.
As to why people are, as you put it, bereft of passion, I would say that
from my experience people are not bereft of passion, they are perhaps
bereft of expression. As the old saying pointed out: "There are 8 million
stories in the naked city, this is but one of them." There are plenty
more. Take care when viewing others through your filters. Your filters may
need changing, eh?
