Replying to LO10556 --

I may have missed some of the dialogue on ADD, but I'd like to share
some experiences I've seen with ADD.

[Host's Note: ADD = Attention Deficeit Disorder, I think.]

My brother's son is diagnosed as ADD. They've put him on drugs and
his behaviour has definitely improved. I'm not sure he's as happy as
he used to be...there doesn't seem to be the sparkle anymore....

Another friend of mine has a son with ADD. Always got bad grades and
in trouble. Instead of going with the drugs, my friend he worked with
him in improving his self-esteem. Redirecting his energies. Listened
to a lot of audio self-help tapes. After only one year, he got 3
awards in school, and this summer he worked part-time saving enough
money to donate a satellite system to an ODAWA Friendship Center here
in Ottawa (a native Indian center). He's only fourteen.

This isn't scientific. It may be just a unique observation.
