Anbother way to change the direction of a system is through the
application of 'Industrial Combinatorics': defined as a method of
combining different industries into cross-units that compete together
against other cross-units.

These combinations can think up kinds of products and organizational
directions that no single industry could think up by bitself. Examples
are automated navigation: insurance companies, transport agencies,
consumer electric companies, etc. are required to think up and design this
concept and direction.

I'm not sure this fits well but I offer it as a possibility.
