In full support of Robert's response and caution, I would add that at some
point of "controlling" another person's behavior, it becomes abuse, plain
and simple. The more energy expended in "controlling" others' behavior,
the less will be available for potential positive outcomes.

In some ways, we seem to be constantly taking on the attributes of
in-animate objects...things, when we attempt to control another. Again, at
some point, sooner or later, it is morally and emotionally repugnant, even
sinful if you wish, but abusive nonetheless. (Sorry, strong feelings on
this one!)
