Replying to LO9986 --

John O'Neill in a thoughtful post asked

>How do you keep an organisation healthy and retain the ability to cylce =
>through different CEOs at different points in a organisations life?

I'd refer you to two books that both document organizations that are
successful in the long term lasting through several CEOs.

"Built to Last" compares and contrasts competitive organizations and draws
conclusions about the factors that foster success.

"Take Charge of Your Life or Someone Else will" documents Jack Welch's
success in keeping GE healthy over a long period.
