Is anyone else struck, as I am, by the depth of knowledge we have already
accumulated in a short conversation which was initiated by a
comment/question about a story (Atlas Shrugged)? Shared familiarity with
this story has rendered its retelling unnecessary for those engaged in the
exchange, who have used the story as a springboard to examine mental
models of individual power and achievement, morality and virtue, and the
ethos of capitalism.

For me, this is further confirmation of the power of story in the practice
of the learning organization.
