I think that the key is in the implementation and execution of that mission
statement. Are the daily actions supporting that mission statement? Are
we really doing what we said we would?
One of the "features" of our university, which is part of our mission, is
to offer a "caring environment" for our students. I have found myself
saking my colleagues to ask ourselves the question of whether or not we are
delivering on this promise! Some times we are operating like we were a
very large university, where students become just numbers very easily.
