The question of why do we hold some ideals but we do not behave
accordingly? must have been plaguing humanity since inception -think of
Adam and Eve and the apple. My 9 year old son asked me a few months ago:

"Dad, how come when you know something is wrong you do it anyway?"
"Son, I always thought about that myself, and I don't have an answer, but
keep asking questions because that's how you learn."
"Dad!..."

I'm with the one who said here that it must be the existance of evil, ...
(and if evil exists, does the devil too?)
