Replying to LO8297 --

Have you ever been in a manufacturing operation which has a nasty
(sometimes violent) history going back generations? Have you ever seen
anyone make difference in such a situation by ONLY their action?

I'll bet not if there were many involved. Have I ever seen it done ONLY
with talking (and listening)? Let's get out of the either/or dichotomies.
Speaking is action and action is communication.

However, I maintain that in a large social structure, it is conversations
and those special actions called "practices" that will win the day.

If it's up to action, we might as well pack our bags. Nobody is able to
change their action from old habits to new ways and be totally congruent -
let alone appear that way - and the culture which it is being attempted in
won't interpret generously enough to give a human being (which is the only
types I work with) a chance.
