In his book "People Skills" Robert Bolton gives an excellent list of
communication spoilers, ways of speaking that block communication. He
quotes Thomas Gordon's "dirty dozen" and gives a complete description of
each one.

It starts on page 15 of the paper back book. Eradicating them from one's
speech will decrease hostility. In addition to the twelve stated in the
book, I would add sarcasm, manipulation, stonewalling and non-verbal
communications.
