You've touched on the basic problem of asserting there are universal
values, particularly when they are ethnocentrically drawn from one
religion. Joan has, in posts here and there, stated that G*d has
instilled these in each one of us. Unfortunately, there are people
that do not want to be told that the Christian deity is the one whose
values that were put into them (sheesh, my grammer deteriorates by
the hour).

Unfortunately, we have seen at a small distance, how this approach
has affected our Native population. While I don't know of too many
religious companies, I have no doubt that the same issues apply. For
example the values inherent in the "sing-a-song"of loyalty each
morning, as occurs in some Japanese companies, and less U.S. ones is
an example of the imposition of corporate culture.

Interestingly enough, when you have a pre-existing group of people
that share certain religious commitments, they can be more effective
than a less homogeneous group. In our area, we have had some
discussions about how effective the Hutterites and Mennonites are in
some of their businesses. But, they enter into business with common
values.
