Replying to LO8058 --

Scott Adams, creator of Dilbert, the comic strip, had one the other day
which related to his reponding to an artificially created sense of
urgency, and how he is working much harder. Dynamiting a building may
make a dramatic point, if it can be backed up by the leader sharing and
being honest (and credible) about the impending danger if everyone doesn't
pull together toward a new way of doing business. With most employees,
the cynicism is so deep, due to program - du-jour ad nauseum, that blowing
up a building is likely to be laughed at rather than make an important
point.
