Processes, outputs, values LO8052

I have been following with interest the dialogue on where people should
place their focus: process v. outputs. (I came back to school so I can
email but I left my notes at home, so I appologize for the lack of
references to specific posts). It seems that the key here are the values
that are shared by the people in the org.

*** What are the core values ? (ex: student empowerment)

*** What are the consequences of these values ? (ex: the need to learn
compensetory strategies; recall I work with stu w/ ld's)

*** What are the attributes ? What "things" feed into these ? (ex: what
exactly do I do to facilitate the learning of strategies to enhance
empowerment)

Some of the discussion, at least to me, has centered around consequences
of values rather than core values. If the core values are developed, some
of the outputs become evident and processe can be agreed upon to meet
create the output (that is aligned with the values.)

In education, we talk about alignment of teaching, ;learning and
assessment. Each of the parts are meant to be integrated as a whole -- I'm
not claiming that this is always done, but thats the theory. (I hope that
this all makes some sense, I'll review my notes and repost. Besides my
daughter is done with the pattern blocks so it is time to go)

thanks much,
