At risk of sounding like I'm sharing a pet solution - I have said it
before on this thread and elsewhere . Change the Unwritten Rules of the
Game. Peter Scott-Morgan's book of that name is a practical place to
start. I can personally vouch for many senior and other managers
expressing relief when the unwritten rules were finally made public so
that everyone could talk about them in office time rather than bitching
about them off line.
