For Chau Nguyen respectfully

Thank you for your lyrical and provocative contribution. I agree that
here in our Westrn tradition we do not often enough quiet ourselves so
that we can experience the music of life deeply.

>my personnal belief is that organizations can not be compared to
>communities. organizations are tied to earnings, communities are tied to
>living. these are two different things.

I think that we treat them as different because we have interpreted them
as different. I experience the work place as a community of people in a
different context. At home the community is more harmonious, our
relationships more intimate and filled with loving concern I would
associate music like 'The Afternoon of the Fawn', or 'Clare de Lune' for
the serenity there. For the happiness and joy I thinkof the 'Overature to
Candid'

At work I hear a more driving sound. It is the relentless beat of
Beethoven's Seventh Symphony. Sometimes sad, sometimes triumphant, always
music, always harmony.

I believe that the energy behind both communities is very similar, both
wish to survive, to live on. A business must make money to survive, and
we often find this in the forefront. Just as we see in America families
in which work and success in business are the actions preeminent. I see
this as a societal problem, reinforced by business for sure. I believe
that just as we get the government we want and allow, we get business.

Please keep challenging usto listen to what is deep within ourselves and
our society.
