Re: all the references to pain being needed to make us change:
I find myself using cartoon illustration to "show the pain" or the
potential for pain. After the nervous laughter, some will complain, which
creates enough discussion to get something moving, or everyone will want a
copy to show their team/manager/associate, and they get something
moving...
In this context, pain can be pretty useful.
