PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

Leadership In A Changing World is the theme of the 1996 ALE
Conference. Motivating, inspiring, educational and
challenging are words which describe ALE Conferences.

The program will feature outstanding keynote speakers.
Participants will have an opportunity to learn about
leadership from "Ben & Jerry's", a very successful management
team. Other speakers will address:

- Leadership Challenges in the Changing Corporate World
- Changes in Technology and It's Impact on Leadership Development
- Leadership In Higher Education
- Leadership Education in Rural Communities.

SCHEDULED CONCURRENT SESSIONS ON:

- Curriculum development for leadership education
- Community leadership programs
- Empowerment
- Youth leadership development
- Successful leadership courses in higher education
- Assessment of leadership programs; and many other topics
will be addressed in concurrent sessions.

The networking opportunities abound from the many papers and
workshops which are presented. Small groups sharing and
discussing challenges and successes of leadership education is
the featured outcome of concurrent sessions.

TRAVEL

Burlington is serviced by an International Airport. It is
accessible by automobile via I-89 and is 1 hour south of
Montreal or 4 hours North of Boston. To aid in travel
arrangements, the program will begin at 1:30 pm on July 11 and
end at noon on July 13.

EXHIBITS

Attendees have the opportunity to exhibit programs, notebooks,
curriculum materials and other resources which have
successfully supported leadership education.

HOTEL INFORMATION

The Raddison Hotel, our meeting site, overlooks beautiful Lake
Champlain and is within walking distance to many downtown
attractions and the University of Vermont.

SPECIAL EVENT

A dinner cruise aboard The Spirit of Ethan Allen II has been
arranged as an optional special event for meeting participants
and guests on Thursday evening, July 11. Enjoy the cruise on
Lake Champlain and watch the sun set on the Adirondack
Mountains while dining on the Captain's Buffet. Remember the
infamous Lake Champlain Monster, nicknamed Champ, can appear
at any time. So keep your eyes open and your cameras ready!

REGISTRATION

Conference registration is $125 per person for members and
$175 for non members. This includes conference sessions,
breaks, two breakfasts, one lunch, exhibits, etc. All
participants will receive a copy of the conference
proceedings.
